Oh Boy,

I currently am ‘mom’ to 3 dogs. My oldest is 10, a mixed Golden Retriever/Rottweiler. Zima Marie was my son & girlfriends (now wife) puppy. When they graduated high school and went on with their life away from my home, Zima was left with me. She’s really mine now; very possessive and protective.
About 4 years ago, I adopted my 2nd dog Mocha Mo from my veternarian. The little Papillon mix had been picked up beside the highway, and brought to the vet’s, because the town did not have a rescue league or animal shelter. Mocha is a chocolate colored character with green eyes; loves to play with my flip-flops (without destroying them), and play ‘tag’ with the 3rd dog…..running and chasing each other throughout my home.
My 3rd four legged baby is Sissy Poo. Sissy is the oldest of her 4 litter mates that my Zima gave birth to. A big uh-oh. Zima was 8 years old, and pregnant for the first time. I always watched Zima when she came into heat, and really thought I was doing a great job of it……….until my Sister visited from out of state and stayed longer at my home than her usual time frame of 5 days.
My Sister has brought her Boxer ‘Harley’ along on her visits many times. Never had a problem. But this visit turned into a 2 week visit, and Zima didn’t even show any signs of coming into heat. The day before they left my sister and I decided to check on them, as they were taking a bit longer outside in the pen to go potty than usual. We found them….making babies.
